I have a customer who has a telco HFC connection with 2 Cisco DOCSIS models create a PTP link between the Corp site and Remote site. Corp site has about 150 devices and the remote site has about 30 devices all on the same network. The DOCSIS modem has a limit of 64 devices in the MAC table and thus has problems with consistent connections as it seems like Ethernet flooding is taking place with inconsistent connectivity.
Is their a better way to handle this type connection or DOCSIS device with a bigger MAC capability or should a router or switch with mac filtering be put into play. Any ideas or suggestions Thanks.
